Scottish Pop Song of the Day #23

Iona Marshall v FOUND – Johnny I Can’t Walk the Line (2011)

FOUND are getting everyone’s knickers in a twist with their forthcoming album, factorycraft (Chemikal Underground), and rightly so. I’ve written an as-yet unpublished review so will hold off on making too much comment ’til then (I know – the suspense) but this stirring cover version of a factorycraft track by the brilliant Iona Marshall (about whom I wrote something here) is a great teaser for FOUND’s new album – and for Marshall’s solo material – in the meantime.
Don’t forget you can still order Marshall’s incredible 10″, Shtoom, from De-Fence records here.
And you should visit the FOUND website to get a first-hand account of how this version of the song came about. It involves a boat, liquor and flaming guitars. The usual stuff.
