Scottish Pop Song of the Day #2

The Banderas, This is Your Life (1991)
The Banderas were a kind of Communards off-shoot, whose debut (and only) album, ‘Ripe’, featured Jimmy Somerville, Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr. Yet the uplifting, House-inhabiting synth-pop of This Is Your Life was the duo’s only real shot at the pop charts: it peaked at Number 16. Many years later, the record had an unexpected – and somewhat incongruous – renaissance at progressive-trance warehouse raves in East London. We can thank Our Price in Stirling for that.
