Miaoux Miaoux – Snow (2010)
Let’s enjoy this lovely seasonal psalm from Glasgow-based techno-melodist Miaoux Miaoux – aka some time Maple Leaf Justin Corrie - before we turn the corner into Spring (she says hopefully). I gave Snow joint Single of the Fortnight in The List last year, mesmerised as I was by its frosted, shimmering post-rock.
In between self-releasing records, knitting cover artwork and playing with Maple Leaves, Miaoux Miaoux is resident DJ at Glasgow’s brilliant pop-literature hoopla, Words Per Minute. There’s a WPM running on Sunday Feb 20th, as part of Cargo Publishing’s equally innovative books and music festival, Margins.
Miaoux Miaoux is also playing Glasgow Captain’s Rest on Saturday Feb 19th, on a Gerry Loves Records bill that also includes the Japanese War Effort and Wounded Knee.
